Getting Involved (Volunteering)

8. How do I volunteer to serve in a ministry?

Complete a Saved to Serve Form and return it to Guest and Membership Services in the foyer or complete the form online. Your form will be processed and you will be contacted within two weeks concerning the ministries you have selected. If you don’t receive a call, stop by Guest and Membership Services or drop us a note via our Contact Us form.

9. What if I’m not able to volunteer for a ministry that operates on a week-to-week basis?

While regularly working in ministry can be very rewarding, it also provides a great opportunity to get better connected with your fellow church members. Our members are certainly not required to join a ministry.

We recognize that everyone has different family circumstances, work schedules, etc. which may preclude them from joining a ministry that operates on a week-to-week basis. However, we do have special short-term volunteer projects such as, feeding the homeless, attending our prison ministry services and assisting with bulk mailings after service. You are more than welcome to sign up for these opportunities whenever they become available.

10. How do I get my youth involved with the Youth Ministry?

We have a very dynamic Youth Ministry, with several youth activities, programs and events that are held throughout the year. Please refer to the church calendar, which is published on a monthly basis, for upcoming youth activities and events, including Harvest “Kidz” Live for ages 3 – 5th grade (every Sunday) and Wednesday “Nite” Live for Middle/High School Students (every Wednesday).

We also have Youth Sundays throughout the year, where youth go forth in several ministry areas (dance, drama, choir, greeters, ushers and more)!

Events

11. How can I find out when events and meetings take place?

All of our events can be found online. Some meetings and rehearsals are listed on our monthly church calendar. If there are other ministry meetings, you will be notified by your ministry president. The church calendar is available from Guest and Membership Services in the foyer.

Connecting with the Pastors

13. How can I get a meeting with or talk with the Pastors?

We have a team of trained ministers who are authorized to meet with members. If you would like counseling for a particular issue or situation, you may complete a Counseling Request Form which is available from Guest and Membership Services in the foyer. Submit the form to Guest and Membership Services and someone from our Counseling Team will contact you.

14. I have a question for Bishop Dukes and Pastor Deborah. If I submit it through Contact Us or via email, will they get it and respond?

While Bishop and Pastor Deborah are not available via Contact Us or email, they do welcome letters directed to our office. They receive many letters every day, and while they cannot personally respond to each letter, we encourage you to send your thoughts.
